Intake Valve Profile Optimization for a Piston-Type Expander Based on Load

Intake valve parameters significantly affect the performance of piston-type expander (PTE). To improve compressed energy utilization efficiency, intake need to be regulated according load. In this paper, an electro-pneumatic variable actuation (EPVVA) system was proposed for independent control distributing parameters. The trajectory planning obtain good mechanical properties. Then, duration angle optimized, and optimum lift curves were obtained at different rotational speeds. Results show that efficiency decreased with increasing. output power ascended sharply increasing angle, but amplitude growth decreased. had a maximum value specific angle. gray relation analysis (GRA) method applied based on efficiency. Finally, trajectories presented under are helpful future expander.
